About Becky
Becky’s time in the saddle began at Pony Club where her ability saw her qualify and compete at the national championships for ten consecutive years on five different ponies, achieving her first qualification at just nine years old.
She began training with Ian Woodhead when she was 13 and the following year was the winner of the Pony Talent Spotting final and reserve for the European Pony Team - launching the start of her BD international squad career.
A year later Becky won her place on the Junior European Team after winning the individual and team tests at Hickstead International with her sister Hannah’s 15hh Highland x Thoroughbred, Sir Fred. She then went on to represent Great Britain at four U21 European Championships with Jordas and Kwadraat winning two team bronze medals.
In 2002 Becky's training transitioned to BD President and renowned coach David Hunt, who Becky credits as being an incredible equestrian coach and mentor.
Becky has achieved 12 international wins, won more than 30 national championship titles and represented Great Britain on Nations Cup teams. Since 2013, Becky has scored over 80% nineteen times in competition, most recently with Jagerbomb posting 84.84% at HOYS in October 2022.
In 2023 Becky was travelling reserve for the Senior GB Team at the European Championships in Riesenbeck, Germany. Following a hugely successful 2023 season where she earned her first appearance inside the top 40 of the FEI Dressage World Ranking Athletes.
A typical week for Becky is spent training her horses as well as coaching other riders at home in Sheffield, or at one of her regular clinic venues across England. Becky has previously been on the Podium Potential World Class Squad and awarded the Northern Region Coach of the Year.
