Summary of last meeting
16.11.2024
"During the Youth Panel's first meeting, we discussed a lot of topics of the current BD Youth system, raised by Emily Willard and Hannah Moody, we came together as a team to brainstorm and provide solutions. These topics included questions such as how we can encourage new riders to join BD Youth - and also how we can continue to engage and retain older members.
In addition to this, we were delighted to be joined by Vikki Hayton, who delivered an eye opening and informative segment on our role to look out for BD Youth members. This included knowing how to identify potential signs of abuse in U18s - whether that be online, verbal or physical, and how to handle these situations professionally, knowing who to report this information to. And last but not least - the Panel members spent a lot of time getting to know each other through fun icebreakers, learning about each person's equine journey so far, and picking up on personal strengths within the group."
- Holly McHugh
The next meeting is on 3 March.
