Saturday 23 November

Doors open at 8:30am and the event will start at approximately 10.00am and finish approximately 4.00pm.

Session one: BD Youth – progress at the right pace -  10.00-11.00

Presenter: Becky Moody | Level: BD Youth

The day will kick off with Becky Moody looking at where it all begins with BD Youth and a focus on rider development, the riders' journey through the BD Youth squads and progressing training at a suitable pace for their age and stage.


Session two: Competition ready – develop your test riding presentation - 11.00-11.40

Presenter: Becky Moody | Guest presenter: Judy Harvey | Level: Novice

The session will focus on top tips and tactics for test riding as well as an insight into what the judges' are looking for.

Our demo rider will be performing a Novice test at the start of the session, where they will then receive feedback and discussion from a judge's perspective from guest presenter Judy Harvey, followed by coaching from Becky to develop their test riding.


Session three: From the ground up – using groundwork to develop your partnerships - 11.40-12.20

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Guest presenter: Joe Midgley | Level: Novice-Elementary

Guest presenter Joe Midgley will work with one horse from the ground to introduce movements and develop the partnership, with Sophie then developing the lateral work for competition on a ridden horse. 


Session four: The judge’s perspective - 12.20-12.55

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Guest presenter: Judy Harvey | Level: Elementary

Looking at test riding from a judges' view, Judy (at C) and Sophie (at B), will highlight the importance of the judge's position on their perspective of a test and will provide coaching tips to our demo rider, riding an Elementary test, based on what they see.


Lunch break: meet and greet with Becky Moody and our hosts!

Your chance to meet Becky, Tegan Vincent-Cooke and Alanna Clarke and ask them your questions.


Session five: Progressing up the levels – the difference in scale of training expectations through the levels - 14.00-14.35

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Level: Medium

This session will be focusing on how to develop your partnership ready for Medium level; ensuring you are progressing at the right pace, looking at the contrast between the requirements for Elementary and Medium and how the training scale differs as you move up.


Session six: Ready to progress? Developing a partnership ready to move up the levels - 14.35-15.15

Presenter: Becky Moody | Level: Advanced/Prix St Georges

Following on from the previous session, Becky will consider how you then look to move up to Advanced and Prix St Georges at a pace that is right for you and your horse, again looking at how the expectations at these higher levels are different.


Session seven: Homebred to Olympic success – Bomb’s journey from foal to Grand Prix - 15.15-16.00

Presenter: Becky Moody | Guest presenter: Jagerbomb | Level: Grand Prix

Finishing the day on a high! Becky will bring Jagerbomb, her superstar of Paris 2024, into the arena where she will warm up, sharing the story of 'Bomb's' progression and training him through the levels in preparation for reaching Grand Prix. The session will end with Becky and Bomb performing their popular Grand Prix freestyle.

Sunday 24 November

Session one: Developing all-round combinations - 10.00-10.40

Presenter: Becky Moody | Guest presenter: John Ledingham | Theme: Cross training

Day two starts with a cross training session using dressage and flatwork to develop the all-round combination. Guest presenter and showjumping coach John Ledingham will look at developing horses for all disciplines through applying the scales of training and flatwork coaching techniques.


Session two: Pole work techniques - 10.40-11.20

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Guest presenter: John Ledingham | Theme: Cross training

Following on from the previous session, John will demonstrate how transferable training techniques from other disciplines, such as the use pole work, can be used in dressage to develop you and your horse.


Session three: Harmonious partnership – working with your horse from the ground - 11.20-12.00

Guest presenter: Joe Midgley | Theme: Groundwork

Joe Midgley returns on day two with his own horse, to discuss how you can develop the harmonious partnership with your horse through groundwork. He will then demonstrate this with a handler, showing then how to work with their own horse from the ground.


Session four: Dressage beginnings – adapting training techniques for a young horse - 12.00-12.40

Presenter: Becky Moody | Theme: Young horse development

Becky will cover our young horse development session, with tips and advice on appropriate age and stage progression, how to work with a young horse to ensure future longevity and adapting training techniques for a young horse.

Session five: Test riding tactics – developing accuracy and presentation - 13.50-14.30

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Theme: Test riding

This session will focus on test riding tactics from a rider's perspective. Learn some top tips from Sophie on how to develop accuracy and presentation for test riding through your training.


Session six: Freestyle for all – using music to match personality - 14.30-15.15

Presenter: Becky Moody | Guest presenter: Tony Hobden | Theme: Freestyle

Jagerbomb is back! Guest presenter Tony Hobden (Equidance) will be with us to share all of his advice on how to pull together a freestyle test; from using the music to match the personality of the horse/combination, to how you can show the highlights of any level combination, from grassroots to Olympics/Paralympics.


Session seven: Journey to Paralympic success – Diana’s career so far from young horse to Paris - 15.15-16.00

Presenter: Sophie Wells | Guest presenter: LJT Egebjerggards Samoa | Theme: Para Grade V Grand Prix

Ending the weekend with another Paris 2024 superstar combination - LJT Egebjerggards Samoa (Diana) and Sophie will take to the arena where Sophie will warm up, sharing Diana's career so far and how she has gone from homebred to Paris, as well as discussing her training, preparation for Paris and their future plans.

We'll then end the weekend with Sophie and Diana's Para Grade V GP Freestyle showcase!
