At the Printemps des Sports Équestres in Fontainebleau, the 28-year-old reigning world champion and Van Olst Horses’ 15-year-old Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) - pictured earlier in April - took the top step on the Freestyle podium ahead of the Netherlands’ Emmelie Scholtens, who was runner-up with the 11-year-old stallion, Indian Rock (Apache x Vivaldi). In third place, France’s Pauline Basquin put in an impressive performance with the 14-year-old gelding, Sertorius de Rima Z IFCE (Sandro Hit x Voltaire).

“Yesterday, Everdale had too much energy. He was probably overly enthusiastic," commented Lottie, speaking after her win. "Today, he was much more relaxed and focused, which I think enabled us to perform a good routine.

“It was good to get back in the arena and feel him relax,” she continued. “I’m really happy to have won this Freestyle Grand Prix in Fontainebleau again, after my victory with Glamourdale here last year. I really like this competition, it’s really well organised and the atmosphere is particularly warm.”
